The original intent for these pieces were to make it for my niece and nephew as Christmas presents. I bought a Singer M1000 sewing machine right after Thanksgiving to start the process but had a lot of trouble figuring out how to thread the machine; so I gave up. It wasn't until last week when I went to Quality Sewing and Vacuum in Bellevue where I took a free Intro to Sewing Machine to realize what I was missing. It took a few more tries at home before I fully understood the mechanism of the bobbin thread. Stuffing the dolls were straightforward. Closing the stitch I learned the ladder stitch which I thought came out fairly clean. The only thing that's missing is the googly eyes 👀, but even that's optional. I'm just proud to have made a "finished" product. I made the orange first, then the blue. Need to get better at accounting for the amount of space needed for the sewing foot. Need to get better at properly clamping both fabrics down so it doesn't move or bunch up during the sewing process. And just being more comfortable steering the fabric and understanding the sensitive of the pedal. All of this will come with time. Learned a lot.

Can't wait to see the reactions on my niece and nephew. Keep the momentum going.
